STATIK-AIR® POINT Technology

Compressed air-assisted surface cleaning and selective discharge

Key Facts

  • Compressed air-assisted ionisation system

    for small surfaces

  • High discharge capacity

    due to concentrated ion field

  • Compact design options

    for tight spaces

  • Easy integration

    into existing production plants

  • Our STATIK-AIR® POINT technology is a compact solution for effectively eliminating electrostatic charges and interfering dust and material particles in the smallest of spaces.

Using ionisers in combination with a focused compressed air stream neutralises electrostatic charges quickly, even over long distances. The system works without actual contact and is extremely gentle on the surfaces. An ionised airstream effectively removes dust from small objects and hard-to-access component surfaces.

It should be noted that for more complex cleaning tasks simply blowing off contaminating particles may not be enough, the process may have to be combined with suction and filtration.

The ionising blowing nozzles of our STATIK-AIR® POINT technology generally pursue three main objectives: To increase the range of the ioniser, to ensure uniform ionisation of deeper-lying particles, and to create dust-free surfaces.

  • KIST + ESCHERICH Operating Principle STATIK-AIR® POINT
    1. 1

      Ionisation

Electrostatic binding forces between material and particles are actively neutralised with focused positive and negative ions. These ions are attracted to the oppositely charged areas of the material surface respectively.

    2. 2

      Compressed Air

The ionisation output is increased for deeper effectiveness and focus, which reliably removes any loosened particles.

    3. 3

      Component/material to be cleaned/ionised

      Note:

      • The particles, stirred up with the compressed air, must be suctioned off reliably using a suitable KIST + ESCHERICH suction, filter and supply unit of the ES or ESUC series.
      • Pulsing the compressed air using AIR CONTROL improves the cleaning effect while reducing compressed air consumption.
  • KIST + ESCHERICH System Installation STATIK-AIR® POINT
    1. 1

      STATIK-AIR® POINT

The STATIK-AIR® POINT compressed air-assisted ionisation electrodes/cleaning modules are mounted at a suitable distance in the production line above the surface to be ionised/cleaned and are equipped with a high-voltage cable for connection to a HV power supply.

    2. 2

      Cable and hose package

HV cable for connecting the HV power supply PU and compressed air hose.

    3. 3

      HV power supply

A special POWER UNIT transformer, which transforms the mains AC voltage to the required high voltage of approx. 6 kV, supplies the STATIK-AIR® POINT systems. Models with integrated function monitoring and error signal are available.

    4. 4

      Signal cable

Signal cable to output the error signals, for instance, when using the POWER UNIT 60 FC with function monitoring and signal contact.

    5. 5

Compressed air maintenance unit and control

The supplied compressed air is filtered by a maintenance unit. The air pressure used to clean the surface is adjustable to suit the application. The cleaning effect can be optimised with an AIR CONTROL unit, which generates pulsating compressed air. Pulsing the compressed air using AIR CONTROL will save 50% on the compressed air. The pulse frequency can be set from 5–25 Hz.
