Surface cleaning during laser processing
Application: laser inscription, laser marking, creating special surface structures

Initial situation
Dust, micro-particles and smoke, which can settle on the product surfaces, are produced during laser processing steps such as inscription or marking which remove material. You must avoid that these particles settle on the parts surfaces, as they will be much more difficult to remove later.
Solution
The aim is to capture the particles produced during laser processes as close as possible to their source. For instance, depending on the size of the labelling field, the STATIK‑AIR MULTIJET model ionisation air nozzles can be used. This blowing device generates a compressed airstream enriched with positive and negative ions, which neutralises the particles loosened from the surface, picks them up and blows them towards the suction unit. The geometry of the suction unit must be adapted to the parts geometry and the local conditions (e.g., interfering contours). The suction power and the filter assembly of the suction and filter unit must be determined accordingly, taking into account the harmful vapours, gases or particulate matter, or aerosols that occur during laser processes.
