Cleaning of Electromechanical Assemblies
Applications: cleaning of plugs, sockets, terminals and electromechanical components for the battery and powertrain of electric vehicles

Initial situation
Assemblies for the automotive industry often consist of a combination of metallic conductors and insulating plastics.
Many of these production steps produce particles which can later lead to functional impairment, e.g., short-circuits or shorter creepage distances, the impairment of optical systems (e.g., cameras or headlights) or blocking mechanical functions.
Solution
The MULTIMASTER cleaning system is equipped with a transfer system, which feeds the parts to be cleaned on the workpiece carriers (WC). Customised versions are available for the take-up of one or more components, depending on the component size and the handling of the components. Additional cleaning elements, which can also be implemented as a setup part, make it possible to adapt to complex component geometries.
The parts to be cleaned are placed manually or automatically on the workpiece carriers and then undergo the cleaning process. Loose or electrostatic-adhering dust and foreign particles are always removed from the surface by means of ionised compressed air from rotating nozzles of the TAIFUN-CLEAN cleaning system or additional cleaning elements; they are then taken over by a suction flow and fed into an integrated filter unit.
The integrated electrostatic discharge of type PRECISION is optimised for ESD applications and its design complies with the current IEC 61340-5-1:2016 standard, residual charge (ionic balance) < 35 V.
The MULTIMASTER can be used for different parts and lot sizes, so all WCs and setup parts are equipped with RFID-based detection. In addition, program selection with RFID-based adjustment of the system controls is also possible. After the cleaning process has been carried out, the parts can be removed from the workpiece carrier at the downstream station and sent the next production step.
