Initial situation

When using PCB magazines in assembly systems, particles may collect in the slots of the magazines, which can then be carried off into the subsequent products or processes. Only spot cleaning is done, and manually with much extra effort. The cleaning is done offline and is time and cost intensive.

Solution

The MAGAZINE MASTER series cleaning system is used in SMT production facilities. It accomplishes a thorough all-around, touchless cleaning using the TAIFUN-CLEAN® system; the integrated electrostatic discharge is optimised for ESD applications and compliant with the current version of the IEC 61340-5-1:2016 standard, residual charge (ion balance) < 35 V. Dust and foreign particles are loosened by ionised compressed air using rotating nozzles, taken up by a concentrated suction airstream, and fed into an integrated filter unit. The MAGAZINE MASTER can be used inline as well as offline and loading it can be done via a transport system (FTS/ATV). The systems can be configured for different magazine dimensions. Upstream and downstream connections in an inline system are made via a SMEMA interface. Individual solutions for coupling to a manufacturing execution system (MES) are available.
