Blister and tray cleaning
Application: synthetic film, plastic blister, cleaning blister wrap and inhalers in the tray
Initial situation
In the pharmaceutical industry, blister packaging and inhalers are subject to the highest demands of cleanliness. Blister packaging is manufactured by thermoplastic forming from cut foil, fitted with inhalers and thereafter sealed with covering foil. When foil is unrolled and in other production stages the foil can become electrostatically charged and contaminated. Similarly, inhalers can become contaminated in previous process stages and electrostatic charges created. This contamination and the electrostatic charges must be removed before the blisters are finally sealed.
Solution
Before being thermoplastically formed, the foil is discharged by STATIK-AIR®, cleaned and fitted with the inhalers. The blisters containing inhalers are discharged and cleaned by means of a TAIFUN-CLEAN® before sealing. Height adjustable pressure clamps secure the inhalers in position during the cleaning process. In order to provide visual control of the process, the TAIFUN-CLEAN® has been fitted with a transparent window facing the operator.
