Cleaning of material webs during label printing
Application: printing machines, label printing, web offset

Initial situation
Adhesive plastic film on a base material of coated paper is unrolled from an unwinder. Particles from trimming remain on the surface. This contamination affects the typography (uneven impression) and the printing rollers during the succeeding multicolour printing (maintenance time!).
Solution
The material web is cleaned on both sides before entering the first printing unit. The web is fed horizontally into the printing unit, both ROTORCLEAN units are placed above and below the web facing each other. Ionization electrodes reduce electrostatic charges and attraction forces, and unwanted particles are released from the surface. Rotating brushes with compressed air support capture adhering impurities and particles. A homogeneous suction stream transports the particles into a filter unit of the ESUC/ESCA suction device. The speed control of the cleaning brushes is infinitely variable by frequency converter, and thus the brush speed can be perfectly adjusted by analogous setting of the selected value of the printing press speed. The ROTORCLEAN is switched on and off by the printing press but can also be hand-operated in the manual mode.
