Electrostatic discharge during foil cutting
Application: winding machines, rewinders, cutting systems, longitudinal cutting

Initial situation
When slitting the foil roll into several product sizes, electrostatic charges arise during the longitudinal cut. Undesirable consequences are over-sparking, dust attraction on the surface, attraction of cutting residues or problems with further processing of the materials. The level of these charges depends on factors such as belt speed, humidity and roller surfaces.
Solution
In order to remove electrostatic charges from thin material surfaces without compressed air support over longer distances or at high transport speeds free of streaks and as required, SMART ION ionization bars are used for working distances between 100 mm and 1.500 mm or for transport speeds of up to 1.300 m/min.
