Cleaning of chip cards

Initial situation
When producing chip cards, there is a possibility of electrostatic charges developing during the various production steps; this may lead to material particles and ambient dust to be attracted to the surfaces. This contamination causes quality problems later, during the printing phase of the cards.
Solution
A STATIK-AIR® cleaning system is installed above the conveyor transporting the chip cards to the printing unit. Ionizer electrodes reduce any electrostatic charge and attractive forces. Flat jet nozzles whirl up adhering particles, which are then taken up into a suction stream and transported into an ESUC/ESCA suction unit by way of integrated suction ducts.
