Initial situation
After production the display glass is stored in transport containers. Afterwards it is placed on a roller conveyor and subjected to an optical quality test. Impurities on the display glass caused by loose or electrostatically adhering particles, lead to phantom errors during the optical quality control and increase the scrap rate.
Solution
A STATIK‑AIR® cleaning device is installed above and below the transport belt section instead of a transport roller. Built-in ionization electrodes neutralise electrostatic charges, reducing the attraction forces of particles and material, and loosening disruptive particles from the glass surface with compressed air. The extracted, particle-loaded airstream is transported through a suction channel to the ESUC suction unit and filtered by it. Stabilisation via a vacuum from below is an additional feature for a safe positioning of the glass and trouble-free material transport.
