On 28 May, 16 intrepid colleagues took on the REWE Team Challenge in Dresden and gave it their all. Despite heavy rain, all participants showed full commitment and plenty of team spirit.
In four teams of four people each, they set off on the 5-kilometre course together with around 30,000 other runners. The start at the Semperoper was slightly delayed due to the weather, but the starting signal was given at 8.30 pm. Our teams were not deterred by the heavy rain.
Along the route, numerous spectators, drum groups and creative costumes provided motivation and a great atmosphere. Tobias Werner reports: ‘The motivation was great and it was really fun to persevere despite the rain.’ The finish in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium was not only a fitting end in sporting terms, it was also reminiscent of the festive atmosphere of our Christmas party, which also took place at this venue.
At the end of the evening, the participants got together in a relaxed atmosphere to review the run over a well-earned cold drink.
We would like to thank everyone involved for their sporting commitment and strong team performance. We look forward to taking part next year, hopefully in better weather and in an equally good mood.
