Wolfsburg, May 2024 – The hyJOIN® team of KIST + ESCHERICH participated in the Circularity Days 2024 in Wolfsburg this week. The renowned symposium brought together leading personalities from many sectors of industry and science, focusing on the topics of circular economy and sustainable materials. The event offered a wealth of information and inspiration with almost 60 lectures and an accompanying exhibition.
Annett Klotzbach, member of the hyJOIN® team, reports on her experience: "The Circularity Days were an exciting platform to discuss innovative approaches for a sustainable future. Particularly impressive were the presentations by Volkswagen on their progress in the production of high-voltage batteries and the plans of Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH for the production of 'green' steel."
Aim of the event was to promote an intensive dialogue on sustainable production methods and to jointly develop solutions for a circular economy. The Circularity Days have their history in the field of lightweight auto body construction and in recent years have concentrated more on the concept of closed loop production and research into sustainable materials.
The thermal direct joining with hyJOIN® from KIST + ESCHERICH was presented as an example of a sustainable technology that enables fast and reliable metal-plastic connections without additional materials such as screws or rivets. This intelligent alternative to gluing can be flexibly adapted to a variety of joining tasks in the fields of automotive & mobility, electronics and medical technology. "We are delighted with the positive feedback and the opportunity to present our innovative solutions to an expert audience," adds Klotzbach.
