Dresden, April 2024 – On April 4 and 5, 2024, the hyJOIN® team of KIST + ESCHERICH welcomed the South Korean company ANT at the Dresden location in Lockwitzgrund. The occasion was a project meeting as part of the 2 + 2 cooperation project JOASIS (FKZ: 01DR21023B), where KIST + ESCHERICH and ANT as well as German and Korean research institutions are collaborating.
The aim of the JOASIS project is to develop an innovative seat structure made of fibre composite and metal that offers a sustainable multi-material solution through the use of recycled carbon fibres while also enabling significant weight reductions.
The meeting took place in part at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology (IWS) in Dresden, the German research partner of the project. The results of the project achieved so far were presented and the next steps of the collaboration were discussed in intensive workshops and discussions. In addition, there was an opportunity to get to know the modern system technology of KIST + ESCHERICH on site.
The demonstration of the thermal direct joining in the hyJOIN® TECH Center was a special highlight. This demonstration showed the potential of the technology and created the basis for planning future collaboration.
The JOASIS project aims for successful international cooperation and underlines the joint efforts of the partners to promote innovative and sustainable solutions in the field of seat structure design. The ANT company looks forward to the next steps of this promising project.
