Dresden, October 2023 – The giroJOIN® joining system from KIST + ESCHERICH has proven to be extremely effective in the production of the Conductix-Wampfler Group. The technology has been successfully used for several months now to connect copper-graphite sliding contacts with plastic insulation. This fully automated process enables the production of a sliding contact every 10 seconds, which highlights the efficiency and precision of the system.
In cooperative work with the team of Jörg Sätele, the hyJOIN® joining process has been specially adapted to ensure a stable and permanent connection between the sintered copper-graphite coals and the polyamide insulation. In the plant, a robot removes the components from a workpiece tray and positions them on the rotary table of the giroJOIN®. After joining, the parts are cooled and tested before their automatic placement on a bulk material tray.
This advanced, automated process guarantees the highest quality and reliability of the sliding contacts produced. The successful implementation of the giroJOIN® technology at the Conductix-Wampfler Group is an outstanding example of the innovative strength and effective cooperation of two companies, which enable the implementation of state-of-the-art manufacturing processes in complex applications.
