Cleaning of battery film
Application: producing lithium-ion batteries, cutting machines, ripping longitudinal cuts

Initial situation
Battery films are ripped lengthwise to a precisely defined size in longitudinal cutting machines. Separating energy causes electrostatic charging of the battery film, whereby cutting particles adhere particularly strongly to the surface of the battery foil and lead to contamination and particle carry-over in the further processes. Particle build-up on films and foils is problematic and undesirable with regard to safety related properties and the service life of the battery cells.
Solution
The aim is to capture the particles produced during cutting processes as close as possible to the cutting unit. Therefore, ROTORCLEAN surface cleaning systems are installed above or below the material surface right behind the cutting unit. Integrated ionizer electrodes reduce electrostatic charges or attractive forces. Rotating brushes with variable brush speed and compressed air support detect contamination and particles clinging to the surfaces by electrostatic force. A homogeneous suction stream transports the particles into a filter unit of the ESUC/ESCA suction device.
